Midnight Snack
This is an original Reduction linocut print.
A linocut print is a type of relief printing technique where a design is carved into the surface of a linoleum block. The raised areas of the block are inked with a roller, while the recessed areas remain ink-free. When the block is pressed onto paper, the inked areas transfer the design, creating a unique and often textured print.
A reduction print is a multi-color printmaking technique where a single block or plate is gradually carved or etched away between each color layer, effectively "reducing" the printing surface. With each layer, more of the block is removed, leaving only the areas meant to retain the color for the next layer.
This print is a part of a larger series where I am exploring the representation of light in a monochrome format.
Size: 11"x14"
Note that the saturation of the colors might vary slightly from your computer screen to the item itself.
